A ho hum lull seems to be settling over the nation concerning Washington and all its attempts to change this country. Is it a sense of boredom with it all … a sense of relief that Obama is turning out not to be as effective as we thought he might be with all his proclamations of how awful this country has been and how he needs to change so much?
Is it just a tiredness …. a worn out feeling … that has settled in?
Are we all getting just plain exhausted in trying to make our voices heard or is it that we have all said what we could and now it becomes a matter of que sera sera?
Are we all tired of listening to the blaming and whining coming out of the White House from the person sitting there?
Are we all tired of hearing ourselves being brought down over and over again by that same person and his minions… as though we .. or any of those before us …. have never done anything right in our lives and don’t know how to so he will make sure we do?
Are we sick and tired of watching our money being spent by the billions or trillions and not having a word to say about it?
Are we all just plain sick of giving anything that comes out of the White House today credibility by responding it?
We Americans are a resilient lot … and not so easily beaten into submission as Obama has felt we were .. aren’t we?
Looking at the possible outcome of the Virginia and New Jersey governor’s races tomorrow .. when push comes to shove .. and someone is shoving us to the point of threatening our very lives as we know them as Americans …. we know what to do.
We have trusted … and perhaps it is that trust that had closed our eyes to what was happening from the day Obama announced his run for the presidency. Those eyes opened eventually .. by the truth … because we are Americans and know the value of what we have.
We are not ignorant.
We go to the polls and make sure that those who would dare to threaten this priceless freedom we have here are never able to threaten us again.
Perhaps the ho hum lull that seems to have overtaken us is simply a sign of that quiet confidence we have in this country .. in what we stand for… in all we are.
When push comes to shove.. we are Amercans .. and we will stand up against anyone or anything that would try to negate the value of that .. whether it be from the White House or from some far away land we have never even heard of.
Are we quietly biding our time to the next election we can take part in?
We know that is where our power lies.
We will use that power. We will preserve all that this nation is … making sure the price paid for our freedom has not been in vain .. and never will be.
Or will we?
Perhaps that lull I perceive is no lull at all … but rather the world just as it is today.
Perhaps the voices I thought I heard in defense of our freedom have been drowned out and can no longer be.
I refuse to give up faith in we the American people.
I refuse to give up hope.
