What has more weight?  The voices of millions of Americans .. or 1.5 million dollars?

Today we have a leveraged buyout of America going on right in front of our eyes through our Senators in Washington .. and the Senate Finance Committee.

Senator Baucus has recieved more than 1.5 million dollars from the health sector corporations that have bought him out at our expense.

All together over the past two decades more than 50 million dollars have bought out the present day members of the Senate Finance Committee.

Those “investments” are now paying off in spades for those companies… as they work indefatigably .. in spite of every American voice opposed… to pass what those companies who have payed them so generously have asked for.

We will have government controlled health insurance .. but it won’t be government controlled at all.  It will be controlled by two or three health insurance companies like Wellpoint who have bought out our senators who like the idea of money more than freedom.

Another point to ponder is what has been written in 1906 by a former David Graham Philips in the Cosmopolitan magazine … something which would never be printed by that magazine today I would add…. in his articles titled… “Treason of the Senate”.

He wrote…

“Treason is a strong word, but not too strong, rather too weak, to characterize the situation in which the Senate is the eager, resourceful, indefatigable agent of interests as hositle to the American people as any invading Army could be….”

Though rules may have been written and passed to try to stop that practice.. it of course has always continued through loopholes … loopholes perhaps intentionally left to allow it to continue?

If you value freedom… it is up to you to let your voice be heard.

Senators value their jobs.
