What could seem to be a windfall for gay marriage began in Iowa .. then jumped to New England and the Eastern coast this past month … then back out to Nevada and into Colorado.. as these states gave legal sanction to same sex marriages or unions in one way or another.
America in change?
It goes along with the change society has slowly taken as a whole over many decades … doesn’t it?
Morality in our society has been dropping significantly for decades now .. or has it?
The last near “innocent” era was most likely in the 50′s… although of course there is nothing new under the sun. As a whole … the immoral acts that were committed then were generally accepted as being immoral and people committing them had enough of a conscience or sense of morality to hide them to the best degree possible.
There was even .. gasp … shame attached to immoral acts.
I suppose many would call that just being hypocritical.
Today … there is nothing that would cause a person to hide their immorality. What is there to hide? What is not accepted as a norm today? There is good “reason” to accept anything and everything.
It is only natural for society as a whole then to embrace gay marriages. What moral code could possibly be stopping it?
Then again … is that all really true … or is it a gambit put forth by our media to give the allusion that our society is in fact this way when in reality the majority of Americans hold fast to their moral beliefs and fight daily the fight that goes with maintaining that morality against all odds with what the media throws at them daily?
The fact that 30 states have amendments stating marriage is between a man and a woman gives a different view of the true morality of our nation from that which the media gives us.
So… is what happened over the past month truly a gay marriage windfall or just a culmination of desperation as the leaders of certain states try hard to stay on the bandwagon of what they percieve to be the cusp of public opinion .. for fear of losing votes … or some such foolish thing?
Political correctness? Is that still a phrase out there?
What is the true moral compass of the United States?
Is it really a gasp of relief over the windfall that gay marriage seems to have gotten over the past month?
